Differential Aptitude Test Form L (DAT-L) Practice Test

Verbal Aptitude focuses on language skills, so the tasks you’ll encounter are about how words relate, mean, and how well you understand what you read. Analogies test your ability to see relationships between word pairs and apply the same pattern to a new pair. Vocabulary/word relationships check how well you know word meanings and how words connect to each other, including synonyms, antonyms, and nuanced meanings. Reading comprehension measures your ability to understand, interpret, and draw conclusions from passages.

Mathematical reasoning, which involves numbers, rules, patterns, and quantitative logic, is not about language use. It assesses numerical and logical skills rather than how language conveys meaning, which is why it’s not typically tested in DAT-L Verbal Aptitude.
